Best Natural Remedies for Blood in Urine...

QUESTION:
I have had blood in my urine on and off for about 6 months now. I have been treated with antibiotics (ciproflixacin) various times but according to my uro/gyno that's not a proper treatment. Bacteria was never found only blood.
I get the horrible itching and burning pain when I urinate and it's just constantly bad. It's so painful and I don't know what to do anymore. The antibiotics don't even help now.
I have also been taking gabapentin for some nerve pain in my arm and I've recently been having an astonishing amount of hair loss.
I read your post about uti treatments and will be following you're advice on all the treatments. I've also had bad reoccurring yeast infections. I take so many antibiotics, which then causes yeast infections so I then take fluconazole.
I hate taking so much medicine. I also take propresh which is an otc probiotic. Please advise what would be a better natural alternative. This is really taking a toll on my body, life and my emotions, having to constantly have a new prescription bottle at my bedside.
ANSWER:
Hi Andrea, and thanks for your question regarding blood in your urine.
I'm not a doctor, but blood in the urine is usually a sign of a bladder infection (uti) or kidney infection. You can read more about this here...
Blood in Urine (Hematuria) Causes.
Firstly, I would recommend you find a good naturopathic doctor in your local area and visit them for a thorough assessment and second opinion. There is no harm in seeking a second opinion!
Secondly, start on the remedies we list for a UTI...
Natural Remedies for
a UTI and yeast infections...
Natural Remedies for Yeast Infections as you suggested. Some of the remedies are the same for both, which is good, so you will basically kill two birds with one stone by utilizing these.
Organic apple cider vinegar containing the "mother" apple (very important it still contains the mother), along with D-Mannose, cranberries,
olive leaf extract, and probiotics are crucial.
In regards to probiotics, just remember that you need lots of these healthy little creatures. Taking a probiotic supplement is a good start (just make sure it's a high strength formula), but you also need to start culturing and fermenting your own foods as well for an extra supply. Good gut bacteria have a high turnover rate so you must replenish the supply every day. And the more probiotics you can get into you the better!
Here's a great website on how to culture and ferment your own healthy foods...
Cultures for Health.
And finally, start taking a good quality essential fatty acid supplement such as evening primrose oil and eating lots of organic coconut oil to stop and reverse your hair loss (also
have a read of this recent Q&A on hairfall remedies).
In addition, don't forget to eat lots of healthy foods. A good "clean eating" regimen is vitally important. No refined and processed foods (processed sugars are especially bad) should be eaten at all. Plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds and herbs are the key to getting your health back on track.
So hopefully this helps you out a bit Andrea.
Good luck and all the best to you!
