QUESTION:
Are there any natural or home remedies for Hepatitis B that can actually cure this disease? Please help!
ANSWER:
Hi Susan, and thank you for your question regarding natural remedies and treatments for hepatitis B.
There definitely are some alternative remedies that help tremendously with this condition. In fact, one treatment is actually being labelled as a bona fide "cure" for hepatitis B and C by many sufferers!
Here's the top 5 you should consider using...
#1. BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene): This substance is the "cure" so many hep B sufferers are lauding. BHT has been REPEATEDLY shown to significantly reduce the viral load of hep B and hep C sufferers, and eventually even completely eradicating the virus from their system. It's a very powerful antioxidant that seems to work by damaging the protective outer layer of viral cells so they cannot multiply. It's mainly used as a food preservative but it's real power (and benefit) is as a viral killer.
You can
purchase BHT supplements online or from many well stocked health food stores. The dosage range is between 250-750 mg's per day, depending on your weight. One caveat is do not consume alcohol whilst taking this supplement as the alcohol interacts negatively with BHT.
In addition, supplements that work well and compliment BHT include...
a.
St Johns Wort (0.3% Hypericin) - increases the absorbability of BHT significantly.
b. Coconut oil - BHT is fat soluble so it must be taken with a healthy fat. A teaspoon of organic coconut oil is perfect.
c. A regular type multi-vitamin and mineral tablet once a day.
d. A regular type vitamin B complex tablet once a day.
e. Vitamin B12 at a dose of 1mg's (1000 micrograms) per day.
f. Vitamin C at a daily dose of 1,000mg's per day.
For more information on BHT, dosages, and specifics, take the time to have a read of this article...
BHT Hepatitis Treatment.#2. Chianca Piedra: This herb helps to stop the virus from replicating in a similar
fashion as BHT. And it actually works particularly well when combined with BHT. You can also
buy this herb online or get it from most health food stores. For dosages, follow the directions on the bottle.
#3. Monolaurin: Monolaurin is a fatty acid found in coconut oil and breast milk. It's a potent bacterial and viral killer that has been found to help tremendously with both hepatitis B & C. Along with consuming 3-4 tablespoons of organic virgin coconut oil every day, make sure you take a high potency
monolaurin supplement each day as well.
#4. Selenium: Selenium is a strong antioxidant and essential trace element. Chronic hepatitis patients (and those infected with hepatitis C) tend to be selenium deficient compared to their uninfected counterparts. The level of deficiency relates to the severity of the virus, and in one study, selenium levels dropped by as much as 50% in HBV infected men. Sufficient levels of selenium may also be associated with less liver damage in hepatitis B & C infected people as well. Best sources for selenium are either brewers yeast or a sodium selenite supplement.
#5. Eat Healthy: Eating plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, seeds and grains, along with avoiding all refined and processed foods is the standard "must do" for this protocol to work. Also drinking plenty of filtered water (not tap water!) and avoiding all soft drinks is crucial. Herbs that are especially beneficial for detoxing and cleansing the liver include turmeric or
turmeric extract (must be combined with a small amount of black pepper and coconut oil for absorbability) and milk thistle - so be sure to include these in your daily eating and supplementation regimen. Remember, you want to give yourself the best possible chance of beating this disease and eating healthy is a BIG part of it.
So I hope these tips and remedies help you out Susan.
Good luck and all the best to you!
