Here's a fast-acting home remedy for boils that works every time, along with other natural treatments that are guaranteed to get rid that boil or abscess without the need for antibiotics or surgical drainage...
QUESTION:
Hello. Do you have any good natural remedies for removing boils? I have one on my butt & it's painful as hell (sitting down really sucks). I need to get rid of this thing asap, overnight or within the next few days would be ideal.
Thanks.
ANSWER:
Boils or abscesses (also known as furuncles & carbuncles) are common skin sores that can occur quite regularly, particularly with people who suffer from skin conditions such as eczema or scabies, along with athletes who regularly participate in contact sports. Overweight people, diabetics & individuals with low immunity are especially at risk.
A boil is a bacterial infection that develops in a hair follicle or oil gland. It begins as a small, red, painful bump that gradually grows in size then eventually turns white as pus accumulates under the skin. The most common areas for boils/abscesses to appear are on the face, neck, shoulders, armpits, thighs, groin and buttocks. When an abscess forms on the eyelid, its known as an
eye sty. If more than one boil appears in a group or cluster, this is called a carbuncle.
Boils or abscesses are caused by the staphylococcal bacteria. This germ penetrates the skin’s surface and gets into the body via small cuts or lesions in the skin or through the hair follicles. A number of factors & health problems contribute to someone developing boils on a regular basis. These include; diabetes, immune system issues, poor nutrition, poor hygiene, & exposure to chemicals & irritants. Symptoms of boils or abscesses include;
- Swollen red lump (size can vary from pea size to golf ball size & larger)
- Pain, particularly when pressed
- Can develop a whitish-yellow head that can burst & release pus
- Sore can weep or ooze clear fluid, develop a crust
- Fever in severe cases
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Additional abscesses can develop/spread creating a carbuncle (cluster of boils)
Thankfully, getting rid of boils or abscesses quickly - no matter where they are on the body - is easy to do when using a few simple home remedies & natural cures.
Here's 7 of the best...
Home Remedy for a Boil/Abscess #1... Turmeric: Turmeric should definitely be your first "go to" treatment if you have a painful boil. This spice contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties & is a strong blood cleanser & purifier. For best results, take the turmeric internally & use it externally so you heal your boil both ways. This is the fastest way to get rid of an abscess & works every time.
Go out & buy some of the high strength turmeric extract capsules with black pepper (
such as these) & take 3-4 capsules daily with a healthy fat such as coconut oil (coconut oil is a potent antibiotic & will help treat & cure your boil as well). Or, buy the good quality turmeric powder (not the cheap variety) & take a heaped teaspoon with some black pepper & coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil (for absorbability) twice daily. In addition to this, mix a small amount of tumeric powder & freshly grated ginger with some coconut oil to make a paste - apply this directly to your boil. Make sure you cover with a bandage so your clothes don't get stained. Be aware that you may experience a slight burning sensation initially, but this only lasts for a short period (and is a sign that the turmeric and ginger are working). Continue to do this morning & night, particularly before bedtime, until the infection has cleared. Make sure you continue to take the turmeric internally every day without fail though so you never have to worry about another boil or abscess again. Turmeric works amazingly well for keeping your body healthy AND for keeping boils and abscesses away!
Natural Remedy for a Boil/Abscess #2... Baking Soda: Baking soda can also be used as an external & internal remedy. As an external treatment, mix some baking soda with a small amount of water (enough to make a paste) & apply to your boil. Cover with a bandage to keep the paste from falling off. Redress morning & night. Or, take a nice warm bath with a cup of baking soda to soothe the infection.
It works a treat!
You can also take the baking soda internally to boost your pH level & get rid of acid in the body (acidity is actually one of initial causes of reoccurring abscesses). Baking soda is the ultimate pH booster. 1/2 a teaspoon in a glass of filtered water every day for 2 weeks is all you need to boost your pH & get your body alkaline.
Natural Treatment for a
Boil/Abscess #3... Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV): Apple cider vinegar contains powerful antibacterial, anti-inflammatory & antiseptic properties. Taken internally, it kills all bacterial, viral & fungal infections, including the staphylococcal bacteria - the main culprit that causes boils & abscesses. Used externally, it also goes to work fast & clears up the infection overnight or within a couple of days.
For internal use, mix two tablespoons of raw organic ACV with the mother (
like this one) in a glass of filtered water & drink down. Add a teaspoon of honey for taste if need be. Do this twice daily on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning & last thing at night. NOTE: Combining the ACV with the baking soda works even better.
To use externally, soak a cotton ball in some ACV and apply this to your boil - hold in place with a band-aid. Make sure you replace the cotton ball 2-3 times throughout the day. You'll find your boil begins to drain & will be healed with a few days.
How to Get Rid of a Boil/Abscess Remedy #4... Castor Oil: Castor oil stops boils from getting bigger & is great for draining an abscess. It also helps to speed up the healing process tremendously. Simply apply some good quality castor oil directly to your boil & leave on. Continue to re-apply the oil throughout the day whenever you can.
Home Remedy for a Boil/Abscess #5... Bacon: This is one of grandma's old folk remedies. It's a bit "out there" I know, but don't knock it until you try it. Bacon, particularly the rind & fat, is high in salt, & salt is an excellent antiseptic & cleanser. All you do is grab a rash of bacon & wrap/place the fat over your boil. Hold it in place with some tape or a bandage & watch what happens. Your abscess will be cleared up in a matter of days!
Natural Remedy for a Boil/Abscess #6... Garlic: There's nothing on Gods green earth that a little garlic can't help with. And boils is definitely one of them! Garlic is one of the best antiseptics, antibacterials & anti-inflammatories there is. Be sure to eat garlic whenever you can & use it in your cooking as much as possible. Garlic can also be used as a topical treatment for boils. The best & safest way is to open up a garlic gel capsule & apply this directly to your boil. Cover with a cotton ball & bandage or band-aid afterwards.
Natural Treatment for a Boil/Abscess #7... Colloidal Silver: Yet another powerful natural antibiotic & bacterial killer. Colloidal silver can also be used internally as well as externally. Taken orally, colloidal silver will destroy the staphylococcal bacteria that's causing your boil(s) from the inside. Used topically, it does the same, along with healing the infection in lightning speed. For internal use take a teaspoon of
silver hydrosol colloidal silver (use a plastic spoon to measure not a metal spoon) & place this under the tongue. Hold for 30-40 seconds before swallowing then wash down with some water straight after. Do this twice daily for a period of 6-8 weeks to thoroughly cleanse yourself internally. For external benefit, simply soak a cotton ball with colloidal silver & place this directly on your boil. Hold in place with a band-aid.
Other Tips & Remedies for Preventing & Treating Boils/Abscesses...
- Eat healthy: When it comes to the initial healing & re-occurrence of boils, diet is extremely important. You must try & avoid all refined & processed foods (refined sugars are especially bad), & instead, eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds & grains. Alkaline foods are particularly important. You want to boost your pH level as much as you can & keep your body alkaline rather than acidic. Do this & boils/abscesses will be a thing of the past for you. Follow the guidelines listed in this terrific article & chart to keep your pH in an alkaline state...
The Acid/Alkaline Foods List.
-Take chlorella or wheat grass powder: Both of these are highly alkalizing & contain essential nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin C & vitamin E, along with life saving chlorophyll (the green pigment in plants). Chlorella & wheat grass are also strong detoxifiers and liver cleansers. A poor functioning liver is considered one of the main causes of boils and abscesses according to ancient ayurvedic medicine.
So hopefully these tips & remedies help you out Dan.
Good luck & all the best to you!
