6 Powerful Home Remedies for Excessive Sweating That Work!
QUESTION:
What are the best natural or home remedies for excessive sweating? To go out anywhere, I have to take another set of clothes and a face cloth. I can't try on clothes in shops as I never know when I will start to sweat. The doctors have ruled out hot flushes (flashes).
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
ANSWER:
Excessive sweating is most often associated with stress and anxiety, being overweight, nutritional deficiencies and poor circulation. Health problems such as diabetes, heart problems, hyperthyroidism, fever and menopause can also cause excessive sweating, along with certain pharmaceutical medications.
Besides disrupting your normal routine and life in general, excessive sweating increases your chance of body odor, which can then make you incredibly self concious.
Thankfully, getting rid of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) is quite easy to do. Here's the top 6 home remedies for excessive sweating you should consider adopting...
#1. Wheat Grass or Barley Grass Powder: Wheat grass and barley grass balance out the body's pH level and remove the toxins in the blood which cause sweating. They also contain high amounts of B group vitamins and other essential nutrients that help regulate body temperature. In addition, wheat grass and barley grass are incredibly rich in chlorophyll, which is a natural (and very potent) deodorant.
When you purchase either wheat grass or barley grass powder (or a combo supplement), make sure it's organic and a high quality brand. Do not go for the cheaper varieties (they're cheap for a reason). Here's some of the top ones on the market at the moment...

#2. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV): Apple cider vinegar is a terrific natural remedy for excessive sweating. Its strong astringent properties make it perfect for controlling external sweating. But it's also great for internal use because, like wheat grass and barley grass, it helps to balance the body’s pH level and remove toxins.
For internal use, mix 30 ml's of
organic apple cider vinegar (must still contain the "mother" apple) and a teaspoon of local or Manuka honey in a glass of warm filtered water. Drink this twice daily on an empty stomach, 20 minutes before a meal.
For external benefit, use a cotton ball and rub some apple cider vinegar on the areas that sweat the most. Leave it on overnight then the next morning, take a bath or shower and apply some baking soda afterward (baking soda is a natural and healthy deodorant) using a large make-up brush to dust on.
#3. Sage: Sage contains some powerful astringent properties and is a great antiperspirant. It helps constrict the sweat glands to prevent overproduction. Sage is also rich in magnesium and vitamin B, which both help to control excessive sweat gland activity.
To use simply steep 1-2 teaspoons of sage in a cup of boing water for 10 minutes. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice and drink 2-3 times daily. In addition, be sure to use this great tasting herb in your cooking as much as possible!
#4. Witch Hazel: This herb helps to shrink the skin pores, which in turn prevents excessive sweating. It also has a nice
fragrance so body odor is well hidden when witch hazel is applied.
You can easily purchase witch hazel from most health food stores or pharmacies (drug stores) or online. If you can get it with added aloe vera then even better (aloe vera is also excellent for excessive sweating). Here's some of the ones you should be looking out for...
Natural Witch Hazel.
To use simply soak a cotton ball with some witch hazel liquid extract and apply to your skin daily, particularly to the areas that sweat the most.
#5. Magnesium: A magnesium deficiency is one of the prime causes of many of the health problems that inadvertently produce excessive sweating. If you suffer from any of these health disorders and you sweat excessively then you MUST start taking a magnesium supplement as soon as possible...
Acid reflux, Adrenal fatigue, Alzheimer's disease, Angina, Anxiety and panic attacks, Arthritis, Asthma, Arteriosclerosis, Blood clots, Bowel disease, Brain dysfunction, Cholesterol elevation, Cystitis, Depression, Detoxification, Diabetes, Fatigue, Headaches, Heart disease, Hypertension, Hypoglycemia, Inflammation, Insomnia, IBS, Kidney disease, Kidney stones, Migraines, Musculoskeletal conditions, Nerve problems, Ob/Gyn problems, Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s disease, Raynaud’s syndrome and Tooth decay.
Once you begin to get your magnesium levels back up to where they should be (this usually takes at least 2-3 months), you will notice a dramatic drop in your perspiration and excessive sweating levels - guaranteed!
The only down side to magnesium is it can be poorly absorbed by the body. However, this magnesium supplement is very highly absorbable and works extremely well for reducing perspiration and calming the body (destressing)...
Natural Calm Magnesium Powder. We highly recommend you give it a try for at least 2-3 months.
#6. Tomato Juice: Tomato juice is rich in antioxidants and substances called lycopenes, which help to flush out toxins and regulate the sweat glands by blocking the ducts that secrete perspiration.
So be sure to drink a glass of fresh tomato juice each day, preferably first thing in the morning when you awaken.
